A sustainable energy strategy saves £140k a year for group of colleges

A group of Colleges based in the south of England with over 21,000 students needed help managing their energy requirements

The Results

Inenco’s Analyse & Act service allowed the College to uncover an additional 18.1% energy saving on campus for both gas and electric against a previous baseline which resulted in a £33,000 saving over 11 months.

This saving will continue to grow in the future with ongoing energy awareness campaigns, the development of a formal written energy policy, a BMS (Building Management System) upgrade, the installation of AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) system, and more.

Implementing these measures can achieve the college a saving of circa £140k per year across all their sites.

Our Approach

01
Assessed performance

First Inenco assessed the College’s current energy performance to determine their principle energy flows and identify main opportunities for energy savings.

02
Scope

Inenco then scoped out their scale for savings with our experts investigating when and how their energy consumption occurred.

03
Deep dive

Our experts then conducted an in-depth analysis and uncovered wastage alongside hidden costs for the College.

04
Driving value

From this our experts compiled a comprehensive report that highlighted where they could save on their energy consumptions as well as our experts providing practical solutions to drive value. These included lighting upgrades and making changes to control settings of equipment.
