Streamlining a Housing Association’s Utilities

Client Name: A saving of £300k for Housing Association
A UK Housing Association enlisted the help of Inenco to consolidate with a single supplier per utility and reduce their consumption costs.

The Results

With a multitude of sites across the UK and adding more and more each day, our clients needed to consolidate with a single supplier per utility to reduce their overall utility costs, whilst staying compliant. They also required their invoices to be managed once their new supplier contracts were in place, to ensure that all procurement was OJEU compliant.

Working closely with the client we were able to save a total of over £300,000 in incorrect historical billing.

We worked closely with the in house team to monitor the meter site churn, as well as offering support relating to the supplier and meter management issues.

Our Approach

01
Identifying sites

Working closely with the in-house team to compile a meaningful and accurate list of site locations.

02
Consolidating Contracts

Working through the tenancies of each of the sites, Inenco corrected the names on each contract, establish the contract status and ensure that relevant termination services were served.

03
Identifying Needs

Leading strategy scoping sessions with the client, Inenco identified their main drivers and requirements with regards to their energy procurement.

04
Calculated Strategy

The best prices and budget certainty were important so Inenco proposed a fixed procurement strategy for the client, as well as a trading strategy with virtual cap for budget protection.
